Artist Bio
Domenic Demeri (1932–1994) was a Massachusetts‑based American painter best known for his atmospheric watercolor landscapes of New England. Active in the Rockport area of Cape Ann, he maintained a gallery on Bearskin Neck in Rockport and became closely associated with the region’s long‑standing artist colony. Demeri transitioned from commercial art to fine art in the late 1970s, working primarily in watercolor and developing a style marked by soft, mist‑filled scenes, winter valleys, reflective waters, and brooding skies rendered in cool blues and grays. Emphasizing mood and light over precise detail, his loose washes and tonal subtlety convey a quiet, introspective vision of the New England landscape.
